After the effort, relaxation! The villages perched on the hillsides and mountains are typical with their wooden chalets where the snow and the sun have gradually worn away the façades. The skiers and walkers will have pleasure to sit back and relax in the cosy cafés and hotels.
The Aravis ski resorts have kept their authentic and cosy charm. There are no ugly concrete buildings, but chalets and typical stone houses with thick walls and churches with the typical bell towers.
You will find ski material on hire where you can be advised on the choice of material you will need.
The shop owners are proud of their resorts and are always ready to give you tips: a village atmosphere which is really appreciated by holidaymakers.
The 4 Aravis resorts - la Clusaz, le Grand Bornand, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt and Manigod - can be reached by a shuttle bus service called the skibus, which covers an area of more than 220 kms of slopes between anticlinal valleys and plateaux.
Two smaller and closer resorts to Annecy offer a delightful domain for skiers. In Seythenex, at the end of the lake, we can ski on the Sambuy.
As for the massif of the Semnoz, it runs over 16 kilometres between the lakes Annecy and Bourget, offering an exceptional panorama over the Mont Blanc and the massif des Ecrins.
If the skiers can go in complete liberty, there is still place for those who prefer Nordic skiing or rackets with 50 kms of marked domain to live their passion to the full.
