For lovers of cross-country skiing: you’ll love the 35 km of trails on one of the loveliest of Nordic skiing plateaux.
MONTMIN (1100 - 1150) – Col de la Forclaz
Three slopes and two lifts to help you start out on skis and enjoy the pleasures of snow. There’s a wonderful view of the lake from the Col de la Forclaz!
MANIGOD (1500 - 1800)
The combined resorts of La Croix-Fry and Merdassier offer 21 downhill slopes and have plenty to offer family skiers as well as the more advanced and contemplative. Also, starting from the Col de la Croix-Fry, there are 17 km of cross-country trails on the Beauregard plateau. The resort is surrounded by the Aravis Chain and offers outstanding views.
Useful hint: a resort at the foot of the slopes. If you want to try something bigger, try the joint Merdassier – La Clusaz pass (over 120 km of slopes).
SAINT-JEAN-DE-SIXT (960 - 1034)Four slopes to start you off before taking the ski-bus to the nearby resorts of Le Grand-Bornand and La Clusaz.
LA SAMBUY (1150 - 1850)
Ten downhill slopes on the summit of the Bauges massif; and if you like cross-country, there are 30 km of trails winding through the woods.
LE SEMNOZ (1700)
Le Semnoz is a skiing area where you can slalom between the pines in a magnificent natural setting. From the summit skiers and walkers can see the Mont Blanc chain and the Ecrins massif.
Useful hint: you can buy your ski-pass by the hour.
