Discover the savours of the region by going to some of the typical markets; in the Aravis or on the edge of the lake, the productors will invite you to taste some of their famous cheeses (reblochon, tomme…), smoked sausages and hams but also local fruits and vegetables.
Let yourself be tempted by the numerous restaurants. If you love Savoyarde cuisine go to the Ferme de Lormay in the Grand Bornand or the Bistro de Bonlieu in Annecy or the Bercail situated near the middle of the slopes in La Clusaz… Don’t forget that there are a number of good quality restaurants with refined cuisine and some of these are well known establishments with an international reputation.
Discover the local specialities: chocolats from Le Fidèle Berger, aux Roseaux du Lac or at Meyer, famous chocolat maker in Annecy and Morand in La Clusaz; for ice creams : Pelos or the Glacier des Alpes in Annecy; the snails: la ferme aux escargots in the Chapelle-Saint-Maurice…

| | Salon gastronomic in Thônes. This event brings together 60 producers of local gastronomy.
“Retour des alpages”: in October in Annecy, we celebrate the return of the cattle on the plains; the occasion to see the animals and discover old trades.
In November: « la fête de la pomme et du miel » in Novel in Annecy, a warm and convivial atmosphere.
Christmas in the Alps: in December, the Christmas village in the Imperial Palace proposes beautiful handmade products and there is also an ice-rink for young children.
Foire Saint-André: in Annecy, for the last five centuries, we celebrate this every november; an opportunity to go bargain-hunting from one of the many street or shop sellers. There is also a mini fair for the little ones.
